The book Síntese de Alto Nível em FPGA, authored by INESC INOV-Lab researchers Mário Véstias and Horácio Neto, together with Paulo Flores (Instituto Superior Técnico / INESC ID), was formally presented at the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon.

The session, held at the Salão Nobre of the Institute’s Presidency Services, featured an introduction by Professor Luís Gomes (FCT NOVA), who underlined the importance of the publication for both research and education in digital systems design—particularly in the field of high-level synthesis for FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays).

Edited by the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon, the book explores the various aspects of high-level synthesis of digital systems, divided into three parts. It begins with the fundamental concepts of digital hardware design, followed by programming structures for high-level synthesis, including the synthesis of loops, interfaces, arbitrary-precision data types, and modular architectures. The final part presents a set of illustrative examples demonstrating practical applications of high-level synthesis.

The publication is aimed at students and professionals in hardware design. It may serve as a reference textbook for courses on digital systems design and as a professional resource for training and consultation.
