Professor António Grilo has been elected Coordinator of INESC INOV-Lab’s Intelligent Communication Networks area.

An Associate Professor with Habilitation at Instituto Superior Técnico and an integrated researcher at INOV, António Grilo will lead a team focused on developing intelligent solutions to make communication networks more efficient, resilient and secure. Its research covers next-generation wireless networks (6G), optical communications, satellite communications, and AI-driven network optimisation.

With almost three decades of experience in communication networks research and participation in several European projects, António Grilo’s current research focuses on 6G Space-Air-Ground Integrated Networks, Internet of Things, Uncrewed Vehicle (UxV) networks, Smart Energy networks, and AI-based optimisation of mobile networks.
